Ames Plantation Memorial
Cousin Alonzo Govan Jackson of St. Paul, Minnesota has informed us that Ames Plantation is considering putting up a memorial to our family! If so, well deserved as our ancestors put much blood, sweat and tears into that land. We will keep you posted.
Arielle Hudson – Rhodes Scholar!
Hi Family! I want to give a shout out to our cousin Arielle Hudson from Tunica, who is graduating from the University of Mississippi this spring. Arielle has been awarded a Rhodes Scholarship. She is the first African American women to do so from Ole Miss and only the 27th recipient in Ole Miss’s long history. Congratulations on this great achievement. You make the ancestors proud!

Next Family Reunion
Our next reunion will be July 8-11, 2021 in Washington D.C. Save the Date! That’s a great location and I’m sure our Metro area cousins will have a great event planned for us.
Joseph Lambert (1735-1803)
Joseph is the white grandfather of William. He fought with the Virginia Militia on behalf of the British in the French and Indian War. In reward for his service, the British crown granted him additional land in Mecklenberg County, VA.
Black History
This project has revealed one thing. Black History is American History. Descendants of Africans have been in America as long as descendants of Europe.
White Lambert Ancestors
I may have found the father of William Lambert our family patriarch. I found another person who is researching Lambert ancestry. They’ve identified a white man and slave owner from Mecklenburg County, Virginia by the name of Julius Lambert born in 1770 and deceased in 1827. His mother is listed as Margaret (Peggy) a Black woman who is listed as born in 1791 and deceased in 1880. Stay tuned.
We are Family
Hello Family. This is your cousin Marvin. I live in Detroit and have been working on setting up our family tree as a hobby for about 4 years now. I’ve gathered a lot of information (not as much as Jimmie Jones! Somebody make sure he sees this!). I set up this web page so that all the family will have access to information about our ancestors. Feel free to contact me with comments, corrections and most of all OLD PICTURES! I keep a family tree on Ancestry.com and that’s where most of my records come from. The other material and stories I’ve picked up along the way. I hope you enjoy and let the children know where they came from. Peace.
