Joseph is the white grandfather of William. He fought with the Virginia Militia on behalf of the British in the French and Indian War. In reward for his service, the British crown granted him additional land in Mecklenberg County, VA.

This project has revealed one thing.  Black History is American History.  Descendants of Africans have been in America as long as descendants of Europe.

I may have found the father of William Lambert our family patriarch.  I found another person who is researching Lambert ancestry.  They’ve identified a white man and slave owner from Mecklenburg County, Virginia by the name of Julius Lambert born in 1770 and deceased in 1827.  His mother is listed as Margaret (Peggy) a Black woman who is listed as born in 1791 and deceased in 1880.  Stay tuned.

Hello Family.  This is your cousin Marvin.  I live in Detroit and have been working on setting up our family tree as a hobby for about 4 years now.  I’ve gathered a lot of information (not as much as Jimmie Jones!  Somebody make sure he sees this!).
